We started our journey at Paulinum at half past eight on Monday morning and arrived in Eastbourne at midnight where our host families were already waiting for us.
On the next morning we met the other classmates at our meeting points and walked to the beach and pier of Eastbourne. After that we went to "Hastings Castle", where we took many beautiful pictures. We also visited the "Smuggler's Adventure", a cave where many smugglers hid in the 18th century. In the afternoon we had the chance to discover Hastings in small groups. The highlight of the trip was visiting London. We started with a guided tour and saw many of the famous sights and buildings, for example, Big Ben, Tower Bridge or Buckingham Palace. After the tour we could explore the city in small groups by ourselves. We went shopping or did other interesting things. Finally we went on a boat tour on the river Thamse, and passed sights such as the Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and the Globe Theatre. The whole day was a very nice experience for all of us. We got back to Eastbourne at 9 p.m. and passed the evening in our host families.
On Thursday, we met at 8.30 a.m. and made a hiking trip along the coast of East Sussex to the Beachy Head, where we had a beautiful view on the landscape. Afterwards we went to Brighton by bus and visited the pier as well as the city centre. And just like everyday we ate our packed lunch during picnic time.
Friday was our last day in England - we had breakfast in our host families very early in the morning, met at seven o‘clock at the bus station and went back home to Germany. After a very long bus drive and hours of waiting at the ferry station in Dover, we finally arrived at Paulinum at midnight where our parents picked us up.
The trip to England was very nice and we will never forget it.
